“Happy Birthday, Kit!” By: Valerie Tripp

This is the 4th book in the American Girl Kit series by Valerie Tripp. The first book has been reviewed here.

Recommended Age: 8

Description: With no time or money to spare, the chances of Kit having a birthday party are pretty slim. But when Aunt Millie comes for a visit, Kit finds new reasons to hope.

My Rating: 5/5

I really liked this book! It shows how desperate people were for money in order to survive, but also how creative (and even generous) they were! I love the idea of Miss Mildred’s almanac and I wish American Girl sold it.
